Triangirls: Imposter Syndrome π Sexual Wellbeing π - Issue #9
Triangirls is not your usual design and tech meetup. Not only have we created a place to share our experiences of working in the tech industry, and to share career tips, we've also managed to gift our members with the tools and confidence they need to own the room, and been a platform to share those achievements.
In a few weeks we'll be getting together to talk about mental health, anxiety and Imposter Syndrome, as well as sexual wellbeing. We'll also host events to talk about preventative measures for burnout, and how to create boundaries.
Tomorrow, we have a table booked for lunch for those who would like to come along and kick off our first ever Munch & Mentor. There's 4 spaces left, so grab them while you can! It's an opportunity to speak one on one with us, and chat about what sort of topics you'd like us to cover in the future.
Let's empower each other to be happier and healthier, and as a result, create the career we've always wanted while we smash through our personal and professional goals.
Stay phenomenal βπ»

β¨ March Social - Deliveroo x Learning People
Closing the Gap was our biggest event yet. It was the first evening that we opened our event up to all for a shared discussion on diversity and inclusivity. Collaborating with two companies we admire, and 5 inspirational panellists, with Rachael hosting, was an absolute dream come true.
We are super stoked to be able to have a video to highlight some of the best bits. As you'll see the conversation flowed and Rachael did a flawless job of hosting the panel. As always, we have the photographs on our website. Thanks again to Ilinca for snapping those lovely candid shots.
If you wanted to know more about our panel, here's a bit about them and where you can find them:
Rachael Grocott: Product Designer at Geckoboard and co-founder of Triangirls.
Alisha Dattani: Co-founder and CEO of FMXA, an integrated marketing and PR agency. Previously at Check Point Software Technologies, a leading cybersecurity vendor.
Charlotte Jee: Staff writer at MIT Technology Review. Previously editor of Techworld, also founder of a diversity in tech venture called Jeneo.
Niamh Power: Mobile Engineer at Monzo. Previously worked at mobile agencies working for clients, learning both Android & iOS.
Sanchita Saha: Founder/CEO of 3 startups including Shello and citysocializer with a 10 year entrepreneurial career.
James Allen: Recruitment Operations & Early Careers Lead at Deliveroo.
A huge thank you to Caitlin Aldrich-Wincer from Learning People, who was the perfect partner, and helped us to plan and coordinate the event. Deliveroo were superstars for hosting us: the food was unsurprisingly delicious and the space was perfect. We couldn't have done it without our panel and audience, thanks for making this a memorable and important evening for all.
π Upcoming Socials & Events
Munch & Mentor - Lunch with Triangirls
At our events, we've noticed how frequently groups of us want to stick around and continue the conversation.
This Munch & Mentor will give us a couple hours to sit together and grab some food while covering those all important topics, ranging from Imposter Syndrome to design systems, in a more casual and intimate session.
As this is is our first of many, we'll use the first 10 minutes to introduce ourselves and discuss topics we'd like to discuss. We are aware that taking 2 hours over lunch can be difficult, so if you are unable to stay for the full time we understand!
April Triangirls Social - Learning to be kinder to yourself
Sponsored by Geckoboard
Working in the tech industry can sometimes make us feel inferior. It's easy to start believing that everyone knows more, or finds the work easier. When weβre surrounded by so many clever people, how can we not start to judge ourselves against them and our work against theirs?
Learn how to spot these destructive thought patterns in yourself, how to manage anxiety and procrastination and how to start being kinder to yourself, because you are awesome.
We'll also be exploring sexual wellbeing and how self pleasure affects your confidence, relationships and the way you communicate.

Imposter Syndrome, Perfectionism and Anxiety - Learning to be Kinder to Yourself
Ever felt like everyone knows more than you? Spent hours procrastinating rather than starting or finishing a project?
Perfectionism, anxiety & Imposter Syndrome affect many people in the tech industry. Learn how to spot harmful thought patterns, how to avoid anxious spirals and be kind to yourself!
Lisa Matzi from Ferly
How self pleasure affects your confidence, relationships and the way you communicate
Only by knowing yourself and what brings you pleasure can you make accurate decisions regarding your (love and sex) life.
Working for a sexual well being company and talking to countless womxn about sex and pleasure has taught me a lot about intimacy, boundaries, consent and the importance of not only knowing what you like and dislike but also being able to articulate it.
A clarified sense of self is a powerful tool for self love, self actualisation and self acceptance β not only between the sheets.
Lightning talks
Kelly Hutchinson & Charlotte Breton Schreiner (both from Facebook) will talk about their experiences with imposter syndrome.
