Triangirls Newsletter: 🦁Courage 🔥 Finding your warriors - Issue #19
This month we were super proud to be able to give womxn the opportunity to find their voices, and support each other to be more confident and courageous. We had some absolutely outstanding headline speakers share their relatable and empowering stories. We're also so pleased to see that more womxn have found the confidence following the talks to standup, totally unplanned, and speak during our lightning talks. It's encouraging to see that the safe space we work hard on creating, provides something so special for our community.
Be brave, you've got this!
✨ What we were up to in February
🦁 Calling on Courage
Sponsored by Trainline and Ovo energy
We were joined by Christina, Sarah and Camila who shared with us the techniques that have helped them to call on their courage and how that's benefited their careers as well as other areas of their lives. They each approach their quest for courage in different and inspirational ways, and we want to say another huge thank you for showing our attendees that even the scariest tasks, like public speaking, can be tackled.
If you couldn't join us don’t worry! You can take a look at our Instagram highlights here.
The photographs from the event are also live on our website. A big thank you to Elle McNeill for taking this wonderful images for us. Make sure to give her a follow on Instagram!
💁♀️Triangirls x Design Club
For Design Club #10 Anna, Rachael and Liz were invited to share the Triangirls story at Monzo. We spoke about what happens when womxn support womxn and where to find support when there isn't any in your workplace. The talk featured some pretty heavy and depressing statistics, which seemed to be surprising for most of the attendees. Having the opportunity to give more awareness to the gender balance issues within tech was so important to us. Thank you to Design Club for having us, we enjoyed every second of the event.
If you were unable to make it you can check out our presentation slides here. Please feel free share around your workplace, there's some great reports in there that go into even more depth and it's important to get them out there.
Our talk was recorded, and you can watch it here in it's full glory!
🗞 Design Calendar - Women in Design Edition
We are so pleased to be the centrefold feature in February's print edition of the Design Calendar.
We shared our advice on what we've learnt by running Triangirls, tips on how can we better encourage diversity in design, and pointers to womxn who want to lead. Thank you Anton from Design Calendar for giving us this opportunity.
There are a few remaining February editions, so grab them while you can from the Design Calendar website.

"Hey, we’re Mirza! We’re two womxn who couldn’t find a single resource covering how our bodies change over our lifetimes and affect our careers and wallets. So, we decided to build it: a tool to help womxn make informed decisions around both our personal and professional goals. We need your help! We need feedback on what matters to you & what you want to see in this tool. And as two operators, we need product and tech experts on the team. If you can join a focus group, have ideas, or want to get involved, we'd love to chat!"
