Triangirls Newsletter - 🎤Take The Mic 🎟 Our next remote event
Last month we finally got there and held our first-ever remote event! We had plenty of speakers talking about how to be what you can’t see, how to deal with job loss and finally how to stay sane during these strange times. We also had a few new faces, talking about side projects and staying healthy in our much-loved lightning talks. We even had folks attend from around the world which was awesome!
We also received a lot of positive feedback as well as suggestions for future remote events. So we’re pleased to announce that we will be holding another remote event in July. But first, we’ve got something even bigger to announce.
📣 BIG NEWS!
Eventbrite - Triangirls presents Take the mic - How to structure, sell and deliver your first talk - Wednesday, 17 June 2020 - Find event and ticket information.
On Wednesday 17th June Triangirls will be partnering with JAM for a very special workshop, that will give you the tools and confidence you need to create and deliver your first talk!
Many people dream of stepping on stage in front of an audience and sharing a talk they’ve prepared. But how do you turn that dream into a reality? By the end of the evening, you’ll have 50% of your talk prepared and the confidence in yourself to deliver it.
Triangirls and JAM will be taking you through the steps on creating your first talk. From choosing a topic, creating a structure and figuring out what content will keep your audience engaged. Our event is both top tips from us, as well was workshop tasks to help you get started.
We’d love to see you there.

🗓Upcoming Events
🍹Thirsty Thursday
After the success of our first remote event, we’re planning to run another in July!
We have Lara Mendonça, Head of Design at Bumble speaking about how to build a collaborative and diverse team. We'll also be joined by a Psychologist to give us tips on how to create psychological safety in your teams.
We still have open slots for more speakers, if you want to step into a safe space to speak and share you story please get in touch by replying to this email or reaching out to us on social media.
📓Triangirls goes back to school!
Earlier this year we were approached by a sixth-form to speak to the students about our community and how to prepare for university and the working world. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 it has put a pause on our plans to visit the school so instead, we have recorded a presentation. If you work in a school or would like us to speak with your students about creating a community, building confidence or what it’s like being a woman in tech then please get in touch!
👩⚕️ #MealsForTheNHS
We’ve still got a few beautifully designed pins by Rachael Grocott. We’ve been selling the pins to raise money for @MealsForTheNHS. This is a wonderful initiative that is helping feed and fuel our London NHS workers.
You can contact us via email with your details or head over to paypal.me/triangirlsocial to donate money to the cause. Make sure you add your address so we can send you a pin! Since we launched this initiative at the weekend we’ve already raised £300 - ALL of the money you send to us will go to the charity. You can also donate money directly to the cause via: mealsforthenhs.co
Bought a pin? We’d love to see photos of you wearing them with pride!
